  2. EOIs will be considered by a local committee that will make recommendations on which applications. We will advise organisations of the outcome in early February 2025.
  3. Groups with successful EOIs are nominated and will then need to submit their formal applications to the department. We will contact you with more information on how to do this.
  4. If successful, applicants should receive their grant by August 2025.

Volunteer Grants categories – what can be funded?
For more information, see section 5 of the grant guidelines.
For examples of what can be funded see page 29 of the grant guidelines.

Grant funds can be used by community organisations under one or both categories:

Category 1
Communications and IT items (such as Internet service fees, laptops, phones, and software), and paying for insurance premiums.

Category 2
Items and services that support the development and well-being of children and young people under 18. There is a wide range of items that may be funded under this category; please see page 29 of grant guidelines for some examples.

This application is an expression of interest and will be reviewed by a community panel that will recommend projects to be nominated. The panel’s recommendations will then be assessed by the Department of Social Services. Further submissions may be required for projects that are selected for nomination.
