Meet Daniel

My Background

I was born in Italy and arrived in Australia as a young child. Before entering federal politics, I worked as an economist, earning a PhD from Yale University.

I’ve had the opportunity to lecture in economics at Monash University, as well as working as a regulator of energy networks and a consultant in the private sector for multiple organisations.

These experiences have given me a deep understanding of economic policy and the importance of creating opportunities for growth and fairness.

Before entering the Australian Parliament, I served the Victorian community as a member of the Victorian Parliament, acting as Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasurer between 2014 and 2018.

Delivering for Fraser

Throughout my time in public service, I’ve been committed to delivering real results for Fraser and the broader community. Some of the key infrastructure projects I’ve helped bring to life include:

  • Removing dangerous level crossings to make travel safer and smoother
  • Overseeing the redevelopment of Sunshine Hospital
  • Helping deliver the Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s Hospital, improving access to vital healthcare for families

My Commitment to Fraser

I’m honoured to represent such a dynamic, harmonious, and multicultural part of Melbourne. I am committed to developing economic policies that create a stronger west, whilst delivering social policies that help our community’s most vulnerable.

During my time as the Member for Fraser, I’ve been committed to delivering real results for Fraser and the broader community.  I have secured funding for Australia’s first ever Vietnamese Museum, achieved upgrades for local schools, sporting clubs and community groups.

In Canberra, I work hard every day to make sure Fraser gets the attention it deserves.

My focus is on promoting economic growth, creating local jobs, and ensuring we have the infrastructure and services to meet the needs of our growing community.

I believe that with the right leadership, Fraser can continue to thrive. Whether it's securing better schools, improving healthcare, or supporting businesses to grow, I'm here to deliver real results for every resident.
